F.A.Q.

When to arrive?

Please arrive no earlier than 3:30pm.

The ceremony starts at 4pm.

There are two elevator rides and a short walk between the IDS parking ramp and the venue, which could take 5-10min depending on elevators and your walking speed. Please plan this into your timing!

What to wear?

The dress code for this event is fabulous formal.

I want you to wear something that makes you feel absolutely AMAZING. I want you to do one last check in the mirror before you leave and go “damn, I look good” before joining us to dance the night away!

A formal dresscode means no jeans or tshirts. While it is very close to Halloween, it is not a costume party of any kind.

Ideas for outfits

  • Suits/pantsuits (ties optional)
  • Fun patterned or plain button down shirts
  • Dresses (cocktail to black tie optional)
  • Formal/fancy separates

The majority of the venue is carpeted (except for the dancefloor) if that is a consideration for your shoe choices.

Colors

The bridesmaids will be wearing jewel tone outfits (but these colors are not offlimits to anyone wishing to rock them).

We request that no guests wear predominately white/ivory/silver.

Plus ones & children

Plus ones

Invites & RSVPs will specifically name invited guests and plus ones, including children. If you recieve your invite and don’t have a plus one that you think is in error, please reach out ASAP to the bride or groom.

Children

Children on your invitation are welcome to come celebrate with us!

We ask that during the ceremony if there is a chance your child may become loud or fussy that you sit strategically so you can exit the space to calm them down. There will be a designated quiet space that can be utilized for this.

Children must be minded at all times, and should not be allowed to roam unnaccompanied.

We will generally try to keep the music PG-13 until 8:30PM, when it will switch to more adult focused songs that may have uncensored swearing or adult lyrics.

When to RSVP by

August 15th

RSVPing by August 15th gives us plenty of time to get information to our caterers & tie up any loose ends/missing invites.

If you have questions around this timing or need longer to make sure you can attend, please reach out to Jake or Melissa and we can work this out with you.

Food

Outside food

Per our venues restrictions, outside food and beverages (regular food, drinks, and alchohol) may not be brought into the venue. Please leave it at home or in your hotel room!

Dietary restrictions & allergies

When you RSVP, you’ll be able to tell us about your dietary restrictions & allergies.

We are able to accommodate various allergies, veganism, vegetarianism, gluten free, etc. with prior notice. These meals will be separate of the main buffet and served to you individually.

Children’s meals

We’ll also have the option of providing a children’s meal on request. Please indicate this on your RSVP as needed.

This will be a separate meal served to children that is different from the food buffet for regular guests (this will be simple children’s fare).

Drink tipping & gratuity

Cash/card bar

During the later half of our event, the bar will transition into a cash & card bar. During this portion of the night, no tipping on drink orders is necessary as tip has been included.

Inclement weather

Temperature

MN can have a wild range of temperatures in October, but typically the days are around 50° and the nights drop to about 40°. So bring along your cozy fall/winter clothes!

Venue

The ceremony and reception is all in one place, and indoors. So this party is happening rain or shine!

The venue is also fully climate controlled, but tends to be a bit on the cooler side. Please bring along a layer if you get cold easily!

Driving/parking

If it looks like the weather is going to be nasty, please leave extra time to arrive and get settled at the venue. MN is very used to inclement weather so the roads should be well maintained, but it can severely affect timing.

The parking for the venue is in a climate controlled underground ramp, so there should be no issues during any weather events.

What's in a name?

No one at this particular wedding will be altering their name. As such, we request that no same-last-name branded gifts or cards be sent 🙂

Centerpieces and florals

We are going to be building some custom centerpieces for our tables. All decor items are either rented or have a loving home after the event, so please leave everything at the table throughout the night!

If you have questions about anything we’ve made for the event, please ask Jake or Melissa! We put a lot of work into these items and we’d love to talk about them!

Anything else?

If you have a question we haven’t answered here, please feel free to reach out to the bride or groom for clarification 🙂
